Alana Thomas Cochran

Alana Thomas Cochran is a business & estate planning attorney at Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C.

Alana was born and raised in Oconee County and attended Georgia State University on a softball scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2012. After hanging up her cleats, Alana went on to attend law school at Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, Alana served as a Graduate Assistant to the GSU Athletic Department as well as President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society.

Following law school, Alana worked as a closing attorney in Buckhead before moving to Oklahoma with her husband, for his career as a professional soccer player. Since 2016, they have lived in Oklahoma, Tennessee, California, and Florida. Alana continued her career in real estate, working in title and escrow across the nation. After years of moving around the country, and two children later, Alana and her husband decided it was time to come home to Georgia to settle down with their family.

Alana returned to Athens to join BBGA in October of 2023. Alana’s history gives her a unique perspective on estate planning and business transactions, having handled real estate transactions across the country. Her goal is to pour into her community in Watkinsville and be a resource for families around the state who want to plan for their futures.

Alana enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and their families who live nearby. Her family attends Watkinsville First Baptist Church and they are excited to become more involved in the community.
