Thomas H. Rogers, Jr. is a skilled Athens business lawyer and a shareholder at Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. At the firm, Tom focuses on all aspects of business representation, including business formation, business purchases and sales, contract drafting, and various tax issues. He has also represented numerous banks and other lenders in loan documentation and loan workouts. Tom has extensive experience handling a wide range of complex legal matters, litigating in both state and federal courts. He has represented creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, and Chapter 13 cases in bankruptcy courts, and has provided outstanding legal representation in matters concerning estate litigation, business and contract litigation, and tax litigation.

A lifelong resident of Athens, Georgia, Tom attended Clarke County public schools throughout his childhood. He went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science, graduating magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia before earning his Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following this, Tom attended the Lumpkin School of Law at the University of Georgia where he graduated cum laude with his J.D. During his time in law school, Tom was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha and Phi Delta Phi where he was Treasurer. He was also a member of Blue Key.

Tom has been with Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. for more than 30 years. He is admitted to practice in the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of the federal courts situated in Georgia, as well as the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court, and the United States Tax Court. He has also successfully litigated numerous Georgia tax cases in front of the Georgia Tax Tribunal. He has received the highest peer rating possible, an AV® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, based on his commitment to high legal and ethical standards.

Tom has served on the Executive Council of the Younger Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Georgia and on several State Bar committees, including the Judicial Procedures and Administration Committee. His is also active in the community and in church activities, serving on several boards and performing pro-bono services for many local non-profits.
