Amy BeMent

Amy focuses her practice on a variety of business-related matters, including business disputes, business torts, and complex commercial litigation. Through her client-centered approach and attention to detail, Amy powerfully advocates for her clients.

After graduating law school, Amy spent two years clerking with the Honorable Steve C. Jones at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, followed by one year clerking with the Honorable Chief Justice Harold D. Melton at the Georgia Supreme Court. She brings many invaluable insights regarding the workings of federal court and the state appellate courts into her practice of law at BBGA. Amy is admitted to practice in all State, Superior, and Appellate Courts in Georgia, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern District and Middle District of Georgia.

Amy is an active member of the Athens community. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Athens Area Community Foundation, an organization dedicated to encouraging and managing philanthropic giving for the benefit of Athens and the surrounding counties. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Brightpaths, an organization that works tirelessly to prevent child abuse in all forms and to improve families’ lives through positive parenting techniques. In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, who shares her love of culinary adventures and travel.
